Waikiki is a magical destination, perfect for sunbathing and surfing. The local area offers beaches, museums, plenty of authentic Hawaiian cuisine and hikes through the rainforest. The area is very gay-friendly with many gay beaches, and gay sporting events held all year round. Although the gay scene is still somewhat closeted, there is a wealth of gay-friendly venues and locals are, in general, accepting. Many of the gay bars are close to the white sandy beaches. Queen’s Surf Beach is a popular gay spot. The gay nightlife centered in Queen’s Surf Beach. Honolulu is home to a number of gay and lesbian bars and some bars host a gay catamaran tour at the weekends. Fusions is the main gay nightclub featuring two stories with hip hop music upstairs and house music downstairs. It has three bars, drag shows and male dancers; Fusion’s sister bar is Lojax, a gay sports bar where guests can play pool, watch sport and enjoy a few beers; Bar 7 has something for everyone with dancing and featuring drag and strip shows; Bacchus is Honolulu’ s hottest gay bar, which hosts gay catamaran cruises every Sunday and puts on live music; Bar 35 is a gay-friendly venue with DJs, events and live music.
