With 164 rooms, The Resident Edinburgh will be the biggest hotel in The Resident’s portfolio of hotels. Located on Drumsheugh Gardens, at the start of Edinburgh’s West End, within walking distance to many of the cities key attractions.
Rooms will vary from Standard Double rooms, all the way to Junior Suites, each fitted with sleek mini-kitchens. Rooms will offer either views of the neighbourhood or striking panoramic views across Edinburgh’s distinct skyline, overlooking Edinburgh Castle and revealing landscapes across to the Kingdom of Fife.
The Resident Edinburgh will feature the ultimate blend of the brand’s signature interior design style with a distinctive Scottish flair. The colour palette draws cleverly on national references; the pale blue of the Saltire flag, the soft hues of the cream Craigleith sandstone, the earthy tones of the countryside and finally the smoky browns that allude to the city’s affectionate nickname of ‘Auld Reekie’.
During the refurbishment of this 1950s office building, The Resident has reused the structure and recycled the existing glass. This process was undertaken to avoid landfill as a minimum but with the target to return as much glass as possible. This is only the second commercial-scale project in Scotland to make this truly circular activity.
