GAY AND LESBIAN HOTELS IN Maldives

The Maldives is a Muslim country under Sharia Law which penalizes same-sex relationships as well as any form of gender identity/expression. Penalties include whippings, house arrest, deportation, up to 6 years in jail or death. Vigilante attacks and executions have also been reported in the past.

USEFUL ADVICE FOR LGBTQ+ TOURISTS:

Nonetheless, it’s always best to use precautionary measures such as avoiding any public displays of affection. Transsexual travelers, however, are not advised to visit the country as any form of gender identity and/or expression is penalized by law.
