Hotel Sezz Paris

Paris, France, Europe

“Luxury is no longer what it was in the 1980s and ‘90s... today, the notion of luxury is space and service. The idea is simple: always say yes before you say no”. Shahe Kalaidjian - owner. At the Sezz Paris, you will be welcomed in the most civilized manner upon entrance. Located in the 16th arrondissement, a favorite place of residence for French high society, Sezz Paris staff will personally welcome you into the hotel's elegant, low-key lobby with a drink; coffee, tea or something with a little more kick? You will find yourself thinking, "I like this person, so helpful and yet so … unpushy."

You will also find yourself wishing they would stick around to give you a hand during your stay – making sure things run smoothly, getting you theater tickets, going shopping with you to show you the real Paris that is not on the tourist map. Wish granted. This will be your personal assistant who will be just a phone call away for the length of your stay at the Sezz Paris.

Accommodations at the Sezz can pass as perfect bachelor pads. Floors laid with wide boards of dark wood, covered with deep pile tomato red or mustard tone rugs. Executive swivel chairs and swept chrome stools by Driade sit by brushed teak finish desks, which are inset with steel light fittings. The beds are the showstoppers - a luxury take on the camp bed made especially for the Sezz Paris by Artelano. They have chrome crossed-Ieg frames, over-stitched brown or burgundy leather headboards, chocolate and charcoal flannel blankets, cashmere throws and underbed slide-out drawers in place of bedside tables and are positioned slap bang in the middle of the rooms. So much the better to play with the boys' toys - LED TVs face the ends of the beds, accompanied by wireless broadband internet connection, DVD and CD players. Cordless direct dial phones are also on hand.

ln line with the exhibitionist mood that seems to be catching on among hotel designers, full wall peek-a-boo glass screens look directly from the bedrooms onto the stone bathrooms. Here there are wide cantilevered vanity tops crafted by Boffi and taps and rain-shower heads by Dornbracht. Some of the bathtubs are round and made for two, others are square stone creations, so huge they are more pool than bath.
